After discussions with their team, a company has decided to acquire collaborative robots (cobots), stating that this is a trend in the industry and that it is imperative for leading manufacturers to adopt cobots. PIPE TRADE FAIR 2024 learned that following the company’s investment decision in February 2023, the team has highly rated the introduction of the collaborative robots.
The team has noted that the factory is continuously engaged in large-scale assembly tasks, welding end caps and threaded nuts onto pipes, with a daily workload of thousands, requiring approximately 20 inches of linear welding per pipe, plus handling. PIPE TRADE FAIR 2024 was informed that last year, the factory operated 24 hours a day, six days a week.
Originally, the company needed to add a second shift to run the project, but with the aid of the collaborative robots, it now only needs to run a one-and-a-half-day shift on weekdays and one shift on Saturdays, and once the pipes are assembled, the follow-up process can be started.Cobots have reduced the cumbersome process of hiring temporary workers and have achieved greater production volumes.
With the collaborative robots and a professional production workshop, the core team of welders can concentrate on enhancing their skills rather than working overtime to complete tasks. After all, higher efficiency and better quality are the future direction of development in the industry.
